The William Low Trust began on the 14th February 2019.

William tragically lost his battle against (Medulloblastoma) brain tumours on the 11th August 2017 after a stoic battle for many years. William was just 17.

Shortly after, the heart breaking loss of William, Richard Green asked Helen, Craig (William’s Parents) and Harriet (William’s sister) if they would like his support to organise a fund raising event in memory of William. They were very touched and were keen to explore the idea.

A committee of skilled friends was quickly formed to coordinate ‘The William Low Christmas Charity Ball’. The ball was held at Moor Park Golf club on the 15th December 2018. The ball was a huge success raising £13,000 for the charities that had supported William and his family so well during his life. William loved Christmas! He was also a ring boy at Moor Park for the family's friends wedding. Please see where the money went to on 'News and Events'.

Following to ball, the committee met up to reflect on the amazing event and unanimously decided to start a formal charity ‘The William Low Trust’ was born!

All trustees and committee members are volunteers.

What do we want to do?

  • We want to raise money for brain tumour research. Work has to be done to stop the devastating impact of brain tumours on suffers and their families.

  • We want support people with their grief by sharing and asking people to donate positive ideas to go onto our website how to remember their loved ones. Please see the 'Moments & Memories' section on this website

  • We want to design an App to support families who need to give medicines to their children, with reminders and ways of recording times, doses, responses etc.

  • We want to have an art exhibition to exhibit William’s art along side other children and young people who have cancer. We will also offer a online gallery for those who are too poorly to attend, prefer it to be online or who have art to be posted in their memory.

  • Whilst raising money for such an important cause, we want remember William in all that we do so that his short life has a positive impact on others and helps to give others the opportunity of life through research and improved treatments.

The charity officially started on the 14th February 2019 (St Valentine’s Day- one of William's favourite days of the year!). Work has continued to gain the charity commission registration, the website set up, official email (info@thewillliamlowtrust.org.uk) affiliation with other key charities, various events etc. including the official launch party in August 2019. We hope that the charity will grow to fulfil what we want to achieve and much more.
